Calum Mallace Red Card Rescinded
September 2, 2016 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Friday that the red card given to midfielder Calum Mallace last Saturday in the 1-0 win at Toronto FC has been rescinded.
Referee Jorge Gonzalez sent Mallace off 43 minutes into the game, but the Independent Review Panel took the unanimous decision to overturn the decision, rescinding the ensuing one-game suspension and automatic fine to Mallace.
The Panel consists of one representative from the U.S. Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association and Professional Referees Organization (PRO).
Mallace will thus be available for the Impact's next game at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, September 7, at 7:30pm against Kaka and Orlando City SC (TVA Sports, TSN, 98,5fm & TSN Radio 690). Excellent individual tickets for this game are still available on 1c0ab5a8c19cfd2925c6e9bdb impactmontreal.com . Get to the stadium early, as jumbo hot-dogs will be sold for only $2 (limited quantity, maximum of two per person).
