LA Galaxy Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night Saturday at StubHub

LOS ANGELES- The LA Galaxy will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night Saturday at StubHub Center when the Galaxy host Columbus Crew SC (7:30 p.m. PT; Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Time Warner Cable Deportes). The Galaxy will recognize various Hispanic community leaders before the match at StubHub Center to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins in September.

As part of Hispanic Heritage Night, the Galaxy will honor pop star Becky G, LA Galaxy legend Mauricio Cienfuegos, Director of Santa Ana Police Athletic & Activity League Kenny Aguilar and Director of Substance Abuse at Homeboy Industries Fabian Debora. The group will be recognized on the field at StubHub Center for their contributions and achievements during a special pregame ceremony.

Becky G is one of Rolling Stone's "18 Teens Shaking Up Pop Culture," and was recently cast as Trini, the Yellow Power Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers feature film (Lionsgate). Becky is one of Cover Girl's youngest faces, scored a #1 single (Can't Get Enough feat. Pitbull) on the Latin Billboard Charts, and guest-starred last Fall, on Fox's Emmy-winning Empire. In addition, Becky has toured with Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Jason Derulo, and J Balvin. Becky's latest single, "Sola," debuted at #1 on the iTunes Latin Pop chart.

El Salvadorian legend Mauricio Cienfuegos represented the Galaxy from 1996-2003, winning an MLS Cup in 2002. The midfielder finished his storied career with LA after recording 78 assists and 35 goals in just 206 games for the Galaxy. Earlier this year, Cienfuegos was named to the inaugural LA Galaxy Ring of Honor.

Kenny Aguilar, Director of Santa Ana Police Athletic & Activity League, assisted with the installation of the LA Galaxy's 20 for 20 mini-pitch earlier this year. He maintains soccer programming and physical education programs in multiple elementary schools in the Santa Ana Unified School District, where 96% of USD students are Hispanic.

Fabian Debora, Director of Substance Abuse at Homeboy Industries, is a well-known artist who oversees a youth development art studio. He is also a graduate of Homeboy Industries, which provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.
