
Soccer fan support in Portland continues to rise, but can Timbers meet demand for more seats?

On December 6, nearly 3,000 Portland Timbers fans filed into Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, carrying flags and banners and singing loudly in anticipation, ready to watch their team win its first-ever MLS Cup.
The Timbers Army had been officially allotted just 900 seats for the game, but that didn't stop thousands of Portland fans from securing tickets and making the 2,500-mile trek to Columbus. On game day, the entire south section was filled with green and gold, and it was the chants from the TA that overtook the stadium.
