Call up for Adams to AHL doesn't last long

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman John Adams has been reassigned to the club by the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Adams, who was called up by the Griffins prior to Florida's game at Gwinnett on Friday night, did not skate in the Griffins game last night vs. Hamilton and will rejoin the Everblades in time for tonight's contest against the Gladiators.

This season, the rookie out of Boston College has played in seven AHL games between Springfield and Grand Rapids. The 24-year-old originally signed with the Everblades on November 10 and has notched 12 points (1g, 11a) in 29 games with Florida.

Prior to turning pro, the native of Wayzata, Minnesota completed a four-year career with Boston College with 29 points in 136 games. Adams was drafted in the third round by the Buffalo Sabres in 2002.

The Everblades return to action tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. from the The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
