GENEVA, Ill. - Orlando Calixte drilled a titanic two-out grand slam to lift the Kane County Cougars to a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Clinton LumberKings on Thursday night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the eighth, the Clinton (12-21) relievers started to get wild. Tim Griffin walked Danny Mateo and Lane Adams before departing. John Taylor (1-2) allowed a free pass to Michael Antonio, filling the bases for Calixte. After a check-swing strike on the first pitch, Calixte unloaded for his fourth home run of the season, putting the Cougars (17-17) on top for the first time in the game.

Robinson Yambati (1-0) closed it out for the Cougars with a scoreless ninth. He allowed just one unearned run over three innings of relief. Brooks Pounders started for the Cougars and pitched a season-high six innings while surrendering two runs on five hits. Bryan Brito's infield single in the second put Clinton on top as Jhardmidy De Jesus scored. Jamal Austin came home in the third on a groundout off the bat of Dan Paolini.

Jordan Shipers started for Clinton and worked through the first six frames without allowing a run. He walked Calixte to start the seventh and exited in favor of Griffin, who allowed an RBI single to Edul Escobar.
