Calgary, AB - The Central Division-leading Medicine Hat Tigers scored seven unanswered goals in a 7-2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Mark Rassell, who played minor hockey in Calgary, led the Tigers attack, netting his first career Western Hockey League hat-trick. Jordan Henderson, Zach Fischer, Matthew Bradley and Clayton Kirichenko also scored for Medicine Hat which produced three power play goals.
Calgary Flames prospect Nick Schneider made 19 saves to pick up his 29th win as Medicine Hat outshot Calgary 30-21.
The Hitmen started well, scoring twice in the opening 2:51 on goals from Jaydan Gordon and Tristen Nielsen, before the Tigers stormed back.
The Hitmen, 19-26-7-2, continue their three games in three days weekend when the Swift Current Broncos visit the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:00 p.m., for Multicultural Night presented by Cornerstone. The weekend wraps up with Calgary on the road in Edmonton for a 4:00 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Rogers Place. Both games will be broadcast on Sportsnet 960-The Fan.
