Calgary, AB - Austin Strand broke a 3-3 third period tie scoring with 41.9 seconds remaining to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 4-3 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

After a scoreless first period Seattle netted a trio of goals in the middle frame off the sticks of Blake Bargar, Reece Harsch and Donovan Neuls.

The Hitmen pushed back scoring three times in the third period on markers from Jake Bean, Vladislav Yeryomenko and Mark Kastelic before the Strand game winner.
