Victoria, BC - Strong goaltending and timely scoring lifted the Victoria Royals to a 4-1 victory over Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Royals netminder Griffin Outhouse made 30 saves while Victoria jumped out to a 3-0 lead just over 12 minutes into the first period.

Chaz Reddekopp, Dante Hannoun, Carter Folk and Jack Walker, into an empty net, scored for Victoria.

Jake Kryski replied for Calgary, breaking the Outhouse shutout bid in the final three minutes of the third period.

Calgary outshot Victoria 31-26 and ends their B.C. Division road trip with a record of 1-2.

The Hitmen will now return to Alberta to begin a three-game homestand and a stretch of seven of the next eight at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Wednesday, Feb. 8 against the Regina Pats. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
