Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jean Cabrera gave up three runs in seven innings but Bowling Green topped the BlueClaws 4-1 on Tuesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.
The BlueClaws (9-13) have now dropped eight of their last nine games. Bowling Green (13-9) took the first of six in the series at ShoreTown Ballpark.
Bowling Green jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning. The first run scored when Brock Jones came home from third as Jordan Dissin threw a runner out attempting to steal second base. After Chandler Simpson singled with two outs, he scored on a two run home run by Brayden Taylor, his third long ball of the season.
Jersey Shore starter Jean Cabrera didn't allow anything else outside the third inning. He struck out six, all among the last seven batters he faced. He was the first BlueClaws pitcher to pitch seven innings in an April game since Adonis Medina on April 21, 2017.
Jordan Dissin's RBI single cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh but the BlueClaws left two men on base to end the inning.
Bowling Green added a run in the eighth on a double-steal and throwing error by catcher Jordan Dissin.
William Bergolla and Leandro Pineda had two hits for the BlueClaws.
The teams continue their series on Wednesday night at 6:35 pm. LHP Sam Aldegheri starts for Jersey Shore.
