
Byler Named Midwest League Player of the Week

GENEVA, Ill. - Kane County Cougars infielder Austin Byler has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week for July 4-10, the league announced on Monday.
In those seven games, Byler went 12-for-27 at the plate batting an impressive .444 with two home runs including four RBI and six runs scored.
Byler made his Cougars debut on May 31, going 2-for-3 on the night. In 38 games this season he is batting .268 with 11 RBI including four home runs with 15 runs scored and four stolen bases. His four home runs put him in third place overall on the Cougars roster. Last year as a member of the Missoula Osprey, the first baseman earned Pioneer League All-Star honors on his way to helping Rookie-level Missoula to their fourth Pioneer League Championship and the second crown in four years. Additional honors included being named as a Baseball America Rookie All-Star and Post-Season All-Star following Missoula's championship season.
Selected in the 11th round of the 2015 Draft by the Diamondbacks, Byler attended the University of Nevada-Reno where he was named to the 2014 Mountain West All-Conference First Team.
The Cougars begin a six-game homestand on Wednesday, July 13 when the team will hold their annual Peanut Free Night at the ballpark. No peanuts or peanut related products including Dippin' Dots, Oberweis ice cream, Cracker Jacks, Oreo churros and candy including plain and peanut M&M's will be sold at any point throughout the night to allow fans with peanut allergies to safely enjoy the game. Fans with questions regarding concessions and the ingredients they contain are encouraged to visit Guest Services on the third base concourse.
