Motor City Mechanics News Release
Fraser, MI â Motor City Mechanics assistant captain Joe Burton is just four goals shy of a career milestone. The 600 goal mark.
Burton, a native of Garden City, Michigan, scored a goal in Wednesday's 7-3 victory over Flint to inch just four goals closer to 600 for his career. Never having scored less than 32 goals in each of his 12 pro seasons, Burton is currently sitting at 31 goals this season with seven games remaining, the next four at home. Only one other American born player has reached that plateau. Joe Mullen scored 502 goals in the NHL and 120 in the CHL for a combined 622.
The CHL's all time leading scorer, Burton notched the 1,000th point of his career in a game against the Kansas City Outlaws back on December 17th. Burton leads the Mechanics in goals scored this season, and is second overall in points behind Blair Manning.
Burton's career stats and information about upcoming Mechanics home games are in the attachment.
