Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Friday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Danny Burawa has been placed on the 7-Day DL, retroactive to May 22. Right-handed pitcher Yobanny Reyes, meanwhile, has been promoted to Charleston from the Gulf Coast League Yankees.

Burawa, a 12th round selection of the Yankees in the 2010 draft, has been a stalwart at the back-end of the bullpen for first-year manager Aaron Ledesma. The 6-3 St. John's product holds a 2-2 record and 3.13 ERA for the season, and has fanned 27 batters while allowing only 25 hits over 31.2 innings pitched.

Reyes, a non-drafted free agent signee of the Yankees in February of 2006, will be making his A-ball debut. The 6-0 righty, a native of Villa Gonzalez, Dominican Republic, played with the DSL Yankees 2 in 2008 and 2009, before making the jump to the GCL in 2010. Reyes struggled in limited time there a year ago, going 0-1 with a 21.21 ERA in four relief appearances.

The RiverDogs play the third of a four-game series in Hickory tonight, versus the Crawdads, before heading to Savannah for a Memorial Day weekend set with the rival Sand Gnats. Charleston returns to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Wednesday, June 1, at 7:05 pm, against the Rome Braves.
