Bump Traded to Tri-City; Lancers Acquire Haden Kruse & Massive Group of Draft Picks

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced the acquisition of forward Haden Kruse & future considerations along with a massive draft pick package from the Tri-City Storm in exchange for forward Alex Bump and a 2023 11th round, phase II draft pick. The acquired draft picks acquired are as follows:

-2023 5th Round, Phase I Pick

-2023 2nd Round, Phase II Pick

-2023 6th Round, Phase II Pick

-2024 4th Round, Phase I Pick

-2024 2nd Round, Phase II Pick

-2024 5th Round, Phase II Pick

Haden Kruse, 19, of Nisswa, Minnesota is currently in his first full-time season in the USHL, playing in 23 games for the Tri-City Storm, collecting three points (1G-2A-3P), a -1 rating and four penalty minutes in the process. Kruse made his USHL debut back on January 8th, 2021 with the the Des Moines Buccaneers, a game which resulted in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Lincoln Stars.

Before his time in the USHL, Kruse played a season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Minnesota Wilderness where he skated in 27 games and racked up an impressive 19 points (8G-11A-19P).

Alex Bump, 19, of Prior Lake, Minnesota is also in his first full-time season in the USHL, where he piled up 26 points in 32 games played (9G-17A-26P), along with a -13 rating & 44 total penalty minutes. Bump was absent during the majority of the month of December his season due to him representing Team USA at the World Junior A Challenge in Cornwall, Ontario where he notched one goal in six games as the United States captured the gold medal.

Prior to the 2022-23 season, Bump was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers 133rd overall in the 5th round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

In the 2021-22 season, the University of Vermont commit gathered 17 points (11G-6A-17P) in 27 regular season games. Bump returned to his his hometown to play for Prior Lake High School from mid-November to mid-March of that season where he captained the Lakers in a run through the Minnesota State Playoffs, picking up 83 points in 31 games played (48G-35A-83P).
