DUBUQUE, IA - The Dubuque Fighting Saints in partnership with Medical Associates announced today a donation of over $10,000 to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

The Fighting Saints hosted their annual "Stick It to Cancer" night sponsored by Medical Associates on January 7th vs. the Green Bay Gamblers. Money was raised at the game through a 50/50 raffle and a post-game auctioning of limited edition Fighting Saints jerseys. In total, the dollars raised at the game totaled $10,269.85.

"We are so grateful for the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Medical Associates for coordinating this incredible event," said Hannah Mitchell, a Senior Development Manager at the American Cancer Society. "Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this happen. Because of their support, over $10,000 will go to supporting cancer patients and their caregivers in our community!" The funds raised from the game will go towards improving the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support with an emphasis on ensuring everyone in Dubuque has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

"The American Cancer Society has made a tremendous impact on the lives of people dealing with cancer. Their support of medical research has helped change the treatment landscape in the field of medical oncology for the better," said Dr. Eric Engelman, oncologist and hematologist at Medical Associates Clinic. "It's inspiring to see so many people support such a life-saving cause."

Zach Keeling, the CEO of Medical Associates Clinic and Health Plans added, "We are incredibly proud to be a longstanding supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Cancer has touched almost everyone's life, and this is a cause we can all get behind.
