Durham, NC - The Durham Bulls beat the Richmond Braves 5-4 Friday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls bounced back after Richmond rallied from a three run deficit to win for the second straight night.
Durham grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run home run by Elliot Johnson. The Bulls stretched their advantage to 3-0 in the third on a Chris Richard sacrifice fly. Richmond rallied back with two runs in the sixth on a two-run homer by Jason Perry. In the seventh Brandon Jones and Barbaro Canizares knocked in runs with singles to give the Braves a 4-3 lead. But the Bulls re-gained the lead in the home half. Johnny Gomes doubled a run home to tie the game and scored the game winner on an error.
Juan Salas picked up the win. Michael Nix took the loss. Scott Dohmann earned a save. Josh Anderson was one of four Braves with two hits and stretched his hitting streak to 15 games. Gomes, Johnson, and Justin Ruggiano had two hits each for the Bulls.
