Bulls Add Defenceman Stephen Silas in First Round of OHL Priority Selection

The Belleville Bulls selected defenceman Stephen Silas with their first round pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection. Silas played this season with the Halton Hurricanes Minor Midget AAA team.

Silas, a native of Georgetown, Ontario is described as a smooth skater with good mobility and range. In 73 games played with the Hurricanes this season, Silas scored 25 goals while adding 52 assists and 69 penalty minutes.

With their next pick, the Bulls selected right winger Scott Howe in the fourth round. Howe played this season with Team Maryland U16 Minor Midget AAA team where he recorded 15 goals and 25 points in 17 games. The native of Marietta, Georgia is described as a strong two way forward with good speed.

Belleville then added right winger Brandon Stewart in round five. Stewart played the 2007-2008 season with the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs Minor Midget AAA team. Stewart scored 32 goals and added 48 assists in 57 games with the Chiefs this season. In total, the Bulls selected 16 players in the fifteen round priority selection. Belleville's picks included eleven forwards, four defencemen, and one goaltender.
