
Ontario Hockey League conducts Priority Selection process

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League is conducting the 2008 OHL Priority Selection process today online at www.ontariohockeyleague.com.
The following players were selected in the first round earlier today. John McFarland of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens was the first overall pick of the Sudbury Wolves. Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs' teammates Gregg McKegg (Erie Otters) and Steven Shipley (Owen Sound Attack) were the next two picks followed by Erik Gudbranson of the Ottawa Jr. 67's to the Kingston Frontenacs. The Peterborough Petes selected Ryan Spooner from the Ottawa Jr. Senators fifth overall.
Ryan O'Connor (sixth overall to the Barrie Colts), Tyler Toffoli (seventh overall to the Ottawa 67's), Devante Smith-Pelly (eighth overall to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors) and Cody McNaughton (12th overall to the Guelph Storm) were also selected in the first round from the Jr. Canadiens, who won the OHL Cup Showcase Tournament in March.
