MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Cal Stevenson's three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, and a strong performance from the Montgomery bullpen propelled the Biscuits (24-26) to a 3-1 victory over the first-place Mississippi Braves (31-20) to even the series at two games apiece on Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

After a 47-minute rain delay, the Biscuits finally got going with right-hander Jack Laboksy making his first start of the season for the Butter and Blue. Labsoky retired the first two batters before allowing a double to Trey Harris, and then a throwing error by Biscuits shortstop Miles Mastrobuoni brought home the game's first run and made it 1-0 Mississippi.

Odalvi Javier (4-2) started on the other side for the M-Braves and worked a one-two-three bottom of the first. Labosky would end up going four innings and allowed just the one unearned run on the lone hit with a walk and two strikeouts.

The Biscuits would finally crack Javier in the bottom of the sixth. Xavier Edwards bunted his way on with a single, and then Mastrobuoni doubled to right and extended his hitting streak to 10 games in the process. With two outs, and on a two-strike pitch, Stevenson launched a clutch three-run home run over the right-center field wall to put the Biscuits ahead 3-1.

Ivan Pelaez (4-5) came on for Laboksy in the fifth and impressed, going three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Then Joel Peguero worked a scoreless eighth, and Chris Muller came on for a scoreless ninth, notching his first save as a Biscuit.

The Biscuits will try to keep the momentum going on Saturday when Easton McGee (0-0) faces A.J. Puckett (1-3) at 6:35 PM CT on Patriotic Night with MAX Fireworks. The series wraps up on Sunday with an Independence Day Celebration with MAX Fireworks.
