Bullpen Leads Bees in Win

(Appleton- WI)- The Bees bullpen picked up the slack on Sunday, in a 4-3 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, after started Daniel Hurtado left the game in after two innings at Neuroscience Group Field.

Wisconsin opened the scoring in the second inning when Omar Garcia crossed the plate on a passed ball, putting the Timber Rattlers on top 1-0. A few pitches later Rafael Neda slugged a home run to left and the Bees trailed 2-0 after two innings.

The Bees' finally broke through in the sixth inning, chasing Wisconsin starter, Victor Diaz, after loading the bases with no outs. Stephen McGee drew a walk with the bases loaded to put the Bees on the board, trailing 2-1. A wild pitch tied the game at two, scoring Eric Aguilera. Later in the inning the wildness continued when another wild pitch allowed Brandon Bayardi to score and the Bees took a 3-2 lead. Ranyelmy Mendoza capped of the inning with a single to left, driving in Stephen McGee and extending the Bees lead to 4-2.

Wisconsin pulled to within a run in the eighth on a bases loaded walk, but Alan Busenitz was able to get out of the inning with no further damage as the Bees went on to win 4-3.

The Bees' bullpen tossed seven innings allowing just one run in the Bees' win.

Bees' reliever Cole Swanson (1-1) picked up the win; Timber Rattlers' starter, Victor Diaz (2-3) was charged with the loss, while Aland Busenitz (10) earned the save.
