Montgomery Biscuits News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The bullpen shined for the Biscuits (9-6) in a 3-1 win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (7-8) on Friday night in the series-finale at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium. With the win, Montgomery took four-of-five from Pensacola and finished their ten-game road trip with six wins.

Matt Neil (1-0), Andrew Bellatti and Braulio Lara (1) combined to throw the final six innings of the game and only allowed one run. Grayson Garvin went three scoreless-innings with a season-high six strike outs to start the game. The relievers scattered six hits with four walks while Neil picked up his first win in his first appearance as a Biscuit and Lara picked up his first save of the year.

The Biscuits squeezed out a sacrifice fly from Cameron Seitzer in the first inning and a sacrifice fly from Joey Rickard in the second inning to lead 2-0. After stranding ten men on base, the Biscuits would grab a 3-1 lead in the ninth when Rickard scored on a wild pitch.

The Blue Wahoos struggled to find the timely hit as well. Devin Lohman ripped a two-out single to right to score the only Pensacola run of the game during a fourth-inning rally, but the Wahoos were 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and stranded eleven men on base.

The Biscuits finished with ten hits including multi-hit games from Ryan Brett, Taylor Motter, Curt Casali and Jake Hager.

The Biscuits will open a five-game home stand with the Mississippi Braves on Saturday night. RH Victor Mateo will get the ball for the Biscuits while the M-Braves will have RH David Bromberg on the mound. First pitch is slated for 6:35 from Riverwalk.
