With the left-handed hitting Rowdy Tellez coming up, Miracle manager Jeff Smith went to Corey Williams out of the pen. Williams walked Tellez to put two on and exited in favor of Todd Van Steensel.

Van Steensel walked the next two hitters allowing J.D. Davis to pick up an RBI on a bases loaded free pass, 2-1.
