Brantford Bulldogs News Release
KINGSTON, ONTARIO -The Hamilton Bulldogs (25-35-8-0) wrapped up the 2015-16 season with a 5-2 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs (46-17-3-2) at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston Saturday night.
Bulldogs rookie Matthew Strome opened the scoring just 1:19 into the first period as he kept jamming at a loose puck infront of the Kingston goal and finally beat Lucas Peressini. Strome's 16th of the season was assisted by Niki Petti.
In the second period Kingston would strike quickly when Conor McGlynn grabbed the puck in front and slid a shot through the five hole of Kaden Fulcher.
The Frontenacs took the lead at 17:22 of the frame as Cody Caron grabbed a puck in the corner, cut in front of the net, and while diving over Fulcher wrapped the puck around the netminder.
In the third period Jared Steege found the back of the net at 5:12 from Cody Caron. Steege netted his 19th of the season after an odd man rush led to Caron setting him up for the game winner.
A few minutes later the Bulldogs leading point man showed why he has been a hot hand. Forward Matt Luff raced down the left wing and from a bad angle roofed a shot into the top corner. Luff ends the season with a seven game point streak and finished with a team high 57 points.
Kingston added two more before the end of regulation. At 11:23, Liam Murray fired a shot from the blueline beating a screened Kaden Fulcher. The final goal was a rebound that bounced up and over Fulcher. The final tally was credited to Austin Grzenia.
Kaden Fulcher would stop a season high 56 shots for Hamilton.
