Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs opened the 2002-03 regular season on a winning note as they defeated the Rochester Americans 3-1 on Monday Night at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. The Bulldogs have an all-time record of 2 wins and 1 loss when opening on the road.
The Bulldogs were led offensively on Monday by Jason Ward who scored two goals for Hamilton. Goaltender Ty Conklin was outstanding in net for the Bulldogs stopping 36 of 37 shots. Jarret Stoll would add an empty-net goal, his first goal of his professional career.
The Bulldogs 0 for 5 on the power play, while Rochester was 0 for 13 with the man-advantage. In fact two of Hamilton's goals were shorthanded.
The Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. as they host the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton for the team's home opener.
