
Crunch Extend Radio Deal

Syracuse Crunch News Release
Syracuse, NY (October 14, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch and Clear Channel Communications announced today that they have signed a two-year deal (2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons) to continue the broadcast of Syracuse Crunch hockey games on WHEN-620 AM.
"Maintaining a great relationship with local sport franchises like the Syracuse Crunch is a main part of WHEN's commitment to the Central New York community," said Jim Lerch, program director for WHEN. " We look forward to another great season of championship hockey."
Crunch broadcaster Bob McElligott will return for his fourth season of Crunch hockey this year. The Crunch have been on WHEN-620 AM since their inaugural season (1994-95). The Crunch's Express Mart Opening is Saturday, October 19 against the Binghamton Senators. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a mini Championship Banner, courtesy of Express Mart. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
