Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the team will take part in 'Movember', which challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men's health by growing a moustache for the whole month of November to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.
Each Bulldogs player has his own page on the 'Movember' website, http://ca.movember.com/, under the Hamilton Bulldogs team page. Fans can donate money and leave comments to support their favourite players by selecting that player's individual page. At all Copps Coliseum home games during the month of November, fans can drop off donations to each player in specially marked boxes which will be setup at the Bulldogs Foundation booth. All money raised will be donated to Prostate Cancer Canada.
Corporate and community partners and fans will also have the opportunity to sponsor a Bulldogs player for $100 on a first-come-first-serve basis. Sponsorships can be purchased from the Bulldogs Foundation booth at all home games or by contacting Paul Giordano at 905-777-2364 or paul.giordano@hamiltonbulldogs.com. At the end of November, there will be a poll on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com where fans can vote for the 'Dogs player they feel has grown the best moustache. The person who sponsors the winning Bulldog will receive a once in a lifetime 'Dogs prize pack experience.
Prostate Cancer Canada uses the 'Movember' funds for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men, afflicting 1 in 6 men. Approximately 24,600 men will be diagnosed this year. It is thought to be a potentially preventable cancer in any cases but more research is needed.
Hamilton will welcome the Manitoba Moose to Copps Coliseum for back-to-back games tonight and Wednesday, November 3rd. Both games have scheduled start time of 7:00 p.m. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. All pre-game shows during 'Dogs home games will be broadcast live from the main concourse at Copps Coliseum.
Tickets for all Hamilton Bulldogs home games (with the exception of the November 5th and February 25th games at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec) are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, any Ticketmaster Outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or through charge-by-phone at 905-527-7666.
