
Bulldogs to play a pair of games this week

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs will look for their second and third win, respectively, of the 2003-04 season this week as the club travels to Binghamton to face the Senators (affiliate of the Ottawa Senators) on Friday, October 17th (7:00 p.m.) and then returns home on Sunday, October 19th for a 4:00 p.m. matinee match-up against the Grand Rapids Griffins (affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings).
The Bulldogs opened the season last weekend with three games. Hamilton lost 2-1 at Rochester (Oct. 10), edged Cleveland 3-2 (Oct. 11) at the Gund Arena and then dropped a 5-3 decision to the Toronto Roadrunners at Copps Coliseum.

RETURNING BULLDOGS:
The Hamilton Bulldogs have seven players on this season's roster, who were a part of last season's AHL Eastern Conference Championship team. Those players include captain Benoit Gratton, Eric Fichaud, Tomas Plekanec, Francois Beauchemin, Sylvain Blouin, Benjamin Carpentier, and Jozef Balej.
BULLDOGS ROSTER STANDS AT 23 PLAYERS:
The Hamilton Bulldogs roster currently stands at 23 players including two goaltenders, seven defencemen and fourteen forwards.

In six career games against the Griffins, the Bulldogs are 2-4-0...Michel Picard currently leads the Griffins in scoring, racking up 3 points (2-1) in the Griffins only game thus far...Picard led the Griffins last season in scoring (32g-52a-84p) in 78 games played...in the Bulldogs only meeting last season at home, the Dogs fell to the Griffins 3-1...the Griffins led the AHL last season with fewest goals against (177) in 80 games...Griffins goaltender and former Bulldog Marc Lamothe, last season's First Team AHL All-Star and Holmes Award winner is currently (1-0-0) with a GAA of 1.97 and a SV% of .944 in his only start this season...Hamilton native Derek King registered an assist in the Griffins 3-2 win over the Chicago Wolves last Saturday (10/11), King has skated in over 800 NHL contests with the Maple Leafs, Islanders, Whalers and Blues, King is acting as a player/assistant coach for the second straight season for the Griffins...King is joined by two other teammates w! ho are from the Golden Horseshoe region, Ryan Barnes hails from Dunnville and Matt Ellis grew up in nearby Welland.
