Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
Abbotsford, British Columbia - The Hamilton Bulldogs shutout the Abbotsford Heat 3-0 at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre on Saturday night. Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 24 shots he faced while Patrick Holland scored the winner.
The Bulldogs scored the first goal of the game for the first time in 16 contests at 4:23 of the opening frame. Brendan Gallagher slid a pass to the slot where Holland chopped the puck over the glove of Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Danny Taylor.
The 'Dogs doubled their lead at 1:37 of the third stanza on a power-play goal by Steve Quailer. Stefan Chaput slapped a shot from the top of the circle and Quailer picked up the loose puck in front of the net and jammed it under Taylor. With the assist, Chaput picked up his first point as a Hamilton Bulldog.
Hamilton made it 3-0 three minutes later at 4:37 of the third period on a goal by Louis Leblanc. After receiving the puck from Mike Blunden, Leblanc fired the puck which was tipped in front and bounced in the net past Taylor.
With the loss, the Heat were defeated for the first time at home in regulation time this season. Hamilton outshot Abbotsford 27-24.
