
Toronto Defeats Rochester 3-2 in Overtime

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 3-2 in overtime tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.
Brayden McNabb opened the scoring on the powerplay at 6:49 of the first period. Toronto outshot Rochester 11-8 in the opening frame. Nazem Kadri would tie the game on a powerplay late in the second period. Alex Biega responded just over a minute later, putting Rochester ahead 2-1. The Amerks outshot the Marlies 19-6 in the middle frame. Toronto would apply pressure for most of the third period until Paul Ranger tied the game at two with less than five minutes left on the clock. Toronto outshot Rochester 16-9 in the final period. Just over one-minute into overtime, Nazem Kadri beat Amerks goaltender David Leggio to secure the win.
Toronto returns to the ice tomorrow for a 3 p.m. puck drop at Ricoh Coliseum. The Marlies will take on the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, for the second time this season.
