
Toronto Drops Rochester 4-1

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 4-1 last night from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.
Toronto would open the scoring just past the 16-minute mark of the first period when Carter Ashton and Matt Frattin recorded goals 15 seconds apart. Toronto outshot Rochester 14-10 in the opening frame. Frattin would extend Toronto's lead with his seventh goal of the season coming at 3:41 of the second period. Both teams recorded 10 shots in the middle frame. Maxime Legault would trim Toronto's lead with his first goal of the season coming at 3:46 of the third period. Jerry D'Amigo secured the victory for Toronto with an empty net goal in the last minute of the game.
Toronto returns home for the second half of a home and home with Rochester tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825). The game can also be seen live on Rogers Sportsnet ONE.
