Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the St. John's IceCaps 4-3 on Tuesday evening at Copps Coliseum. Nathan Beaulieu tallied twice including the game-winner and Joey Tenute and Patrick Holland both added two assists.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 13:06 of the opening frame on a power-play tally by Stefan Chaput. After receiving the puck from Mike Blunden, Chaput walked out of the right corner and roofed the puck over the left shoulder of St. John's starting goaltender Mark Dekanich.

The IceCaps tied the score at 2:58 of the second stanza as Jason Gregoire grabbed the puck in the left corner and wrapped around the net and lifted the puck over the shoulder of Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer.

The 'Dogs took the lead at 10:13 of the second period on Joe Stejskal's first American Hockey League goal in his 77th-career game. Tenute slid a pass from the right boards to Stejskal at the point who wired a shot low past Dekanich. Hamilton grabbed a two-goal lead at 16:07 of the second frame as Beaulieu slapped a shot from the top of the left circle which eluded Dekanich along the ice.

St. John's cut the lead back to one just 56 seconds later at 17:03 of the second as Carl Klingberg rifled a shot from the point which was blocked in front and Aaron Gagnon chopped in the rebound from the crease.

The Bulldogs restored their two-goal lead at 6:14 of the third stanza on Beaulieu's second goal of the contest. Beaulieu stepped into a shot from the left point which went in the net low past a screened Dekanich.

The IceCaps scored their third goal of the evening off the stick of Raymond Sawada who one-timed a shot from right point past Mayer at 7:35 of the third period on the power play.
