Bulldogs Lose 5-3 to Guelph
December 28, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. Not the start to the second half of the season the Bulldogs were hoping for Friday night as they fell behind early and lost 5-3 to the Storm in Guelph.
The Storm opened the scoring at 1:33 of the 1st period with the Bulldogs responding less than two minutes later thanks to a Logan Morrison (2) goal that tied the game 1-1. However, Guelph went on to score two more before the end of the period to take a 4-1 lead.
The Bulldogs were much improved in the 2nd period as Brandon Saigeon (23) swung the momentum in Hamilton's favour with a short-handed marker, followed by a late goal from Isaac Nurse (5) to cut the Storm lead to 4-3.
Hamilton out-shot Guelph 12-6 in the 3rd period, but any hopes of completing the comeback ended as the Storm scored a late insurance goal on the power-play to make the final 5-3.
3 STARS:
1) Anthony Popovich (GUE) 2) Liam Hawel (GUE) 3) Isaac Nurse (HAM)
The Bulldogs will look for redemption tomorrow when they take on the Guelph Storm in the second half of the home-and-home series at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton at 4 pm.
