Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum. Gabriel Dumont scored the game-winning goal in the third period while Curtis Sanford stopped 28 of 29 shots to earn the victory.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring 31 seconds into the second stanza. Neil Petruic dished the puck to Max Pacioretty, who carried it into the Marlies' zone along the left side of the ice. Pacioretty proceeded to rifle a shot over the glove of Toronto starting goaltender Jussi Rynnas.
The Marlies tied the game 1-1 at 10:50 of the final frame. Danny Richmond received the puck from Marcel Mueller before sending the puck to Brayden Irwin, who was positioned at the right side of the net. Irwin wired a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford over the shoulder.
The 'Dogs regained their lead at 18:52 of the third period. Ben Maxwell streaked down the left side boards before firing a shot on goal that bounced off Rynnas' glove. Dumont scooped up the loose puck before burying it past the goaltender and into the net. J.T. Wyman provided an empty net goal at 19:39 to seal the win for Hamilton.
