Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

The Hamilton Bulldogs have announced that all eleven Hamilton/Burlington FORTINOS locations will be supporting Travis' Battle, by offering $10 upper bowl tickets for the "Heroes of Hometown Hockey" game, which will take place on Friday, March 26th at 7:00 p.m. when the Bulldogs host the St. John's Maple Leafs at Copps Coliseum.

Proceeds from the upper bowl tickets will go towards Travis' Battle, a charitable fund set up to support Travis Carter, a six-year-old Ancaster boy who suffers from a rare form of Batten's Disease. Travis has been one of ten children chosen to receive experimental surgery.

"This is the second time the Bulldogs have got behind Travis's Battle, as we donated all upper bowl tickets to a game last season (April 5, 2003)," said Bulldogs president, Steve Katzman. "With the help of a community giant like Fortinos, hopefully this time will put them over the top. The Bulldogs organization is proud to take part in this community initiative."

"We are very excited about the upcoming fundraiser with the Bulldogs and Fortinos," said Derek Carter, Travis' father. "Last year's event was one of the most successful events to date. We hope to build on that this year. Travis will be going for experimental surgery to the United States some time this year. With great support from the Bulldogs, Fortinos and the community, this event will help fund the treatment."

"Fortinos is thrilled to have the opportunity to support our Hamilton Bulldogs hockey team and in particular, assist in raising the much needed funds to help Travis with his clinical trials," said Gloria Capone-Pilot, the Manager of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations with Fortinos.
