Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
YOUNGSTOWN, OH -- The Mudbugs hit the road to start the second half of the season and squeezed by winning 3-2 after a nail-biting third period.
Bossier-Shreveport was first on the board as Daniel Pegoraro dug the puck out of the corner and fed it to Joe Ori who scored his ninth goal of the season. The Mudbugs penalty killed denied the Steelhounds three times to hold the one goal lead going in to the first intermission.
John DeCaro's brilliant goaltending in the second period, preserving the one goal lead. DeCaro made 15 saves, turning aside two breakaways and two odd man rushes.
Daniel Pegoraro buried a loose puck in the slot to put the Bugs back on top 2-1. Bossier-Shreveport took a 3-1 lead when Forbes MacPherson fed Dan Wilfong in front of the net for Wildfong's 11th goal this season. Youngstown answered when Chris Shaffer beat John DeCaro glove side. The Steelhounds pulled the goaltender but the Bugs held on for the one goal victory.
