December 4, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Des Moines Buccaneers News Release

The Des Moines Buccaneers returned to home ice at Buccaneer Arena for the team's annual Blackout Game on Black Friday and dealt the Blackout punch to the Dubuque Fighting Saints late in the third period to secure the 3-2 win over the top team in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Nate Delladonna ('06 Penn State//Brewerton, NY) scored his first USHL goal in spectacular fashion, when Paul Minnehan found Davis Borozinskis, who put the puck right to left in front of Delladonna who cashed in for the goal with 4:10 to play in the third period, breaking the 2-2 tie and helping the Buccaneers to the Blackout game victory. For Minnehan, it marked his 12th assist of the season and for Borozinskis his 11th.

Minnehan ('03 Uncommitted//Cypress, Ca.) scored the equalizer earlier in the 3rd period to help the Bucs rally from down 2-1. Minnehan put home his 7th goal of the season off the feed from Borozinskis to even things up at 2-2 at the 8:52 mark of the third.

Dubuque scored just 2:31 into the game and didn't trail until Delladonna's game-winner.

Des Moines played three games in four days during the Thanksgiving Week, falling to Sioux Falls on Thanksgiving Eve, winning against Dubuque at home on Black Friday, and dropping a 5-2 contest at Dubuque on Saturday.

The Buccaneers are home next weekend hosting the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Waterloo Black Hawks. Tickets are on sale by calling the Box Office at 515-278-2827, or online at tickets.bucshockey.com.
