Trenton Thunder News Release

(Trenton, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced on Monday that former Yankees shortstop Bucky Dent will be the team's special guest on Wednesday, June 20 thanks to Steiner Sports Collectibles.

Dent is a three time All-Star who played 12 years in the Major Leagues including from 1977 to 1982 with the New York Yankees. He earned two World Series rings as the starting shortstop for the Yankees ('77 and '78), and was voted the World Series MVP in 1978. Dent is most famous for his home run in a tie-breaker game against the Boston Red Sox at the end of the 1978 season. He will be available for autographs and photographs.

NY Giants Punter Steve Weatherford was originally scheduled to appear in Trenton on June 20 to sign autographs for Thunder fans. He had to unexpectedly return to his home in California for family reasons.

The Thunder are off today then on a six game (seven day) road trip to Altoona and Harrisburg. They will return to Trenton for a seven game homestand starting June 19. The homestand will feature another special guest, Spider-Man from Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark on Broadway, on Thursday, June 21. Spider-Man will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and pose for photos with fans. The complete promotional schedule can be found here: http://www.milb.com/promotions/index.jsp'sid=t567
