Vance Worley to Appear at All-Star Luncheon

(Reading, Pa.)---Former R-Phils pitcher and current Philadelphia Phillies starter Vance Worley has been announced as the featured guest speaker at the Baseballtown All-Star Classic Luncheon on Wednesday, July 11 at the Crowne Plaza Reading.

A two-time Eastern League All-Star with the Reading Phillies in 2009 and 2010, Worley went 9-4 with a 3.20 ERA in 2010 before earning a promotion to Philadelphia on July 21, 2010. During that season, he appeared in five games for the Phillies and posted a 1-1 mark with a 1.38 ERA. The following season, Worley spent a majority of his season with Philadelphia and made an impact by going 11-3 with a 3.01 ERA. Because of his stellar rookie season, Baseball America ranked the "Vanimal" as one of the five starting pitchers on its All-Rookie Team. He also finished third in National League Rookie of the Year voting, behind winner Craig Kimbrel and Freddie Freeman.

At the luncheon, Worley will participate in a question and answer session with luncheon attendees as well as sign free autographs.

The Baseballtown All-Star Luncheon to benefit Baseballtown Charities begins at 11:30 on July 11. During the event, each Eastern League All-Star will be sitting at tables alongside luncheon attendees prior to the Baseballtown All-Star Classic Game later that night. Fans will also be able to mingle and interact with the all-stars throughout the event. All those who purchase a table are guaranteed to be seated with an all-star at the luncheon.

Following the luncheon, every Eastern League All-Star will partake in an autograph session at the hotel. Aside from the home run derby, this will be the only time that the Eastern League All-Stars will have a formal autograph session.

Tickets for the event cost $60 each or $480 for an eight-person table. Tickets for this and all Baseballtown All-Star Classic events can be purchased by calling 610-370-BALL, online at www.RPhils.com, or in person at the R-Phils Ticket Office at FirstEnergy Stadium.
