
Bucks Stuff Bees Like Thanksgiving Turkey

HIDALGO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 3-1 Wednesday night at State Farm Arena. The Bucks picked up their second straight win as they improve to 6-8-1 (13 points) on the season.
Pier Pelletier picked up his first win since October 16th as he stopped 31 of 32 shots he faced as the Bucks took the lead in the Cricket Mayor's Cup standings (seven points to five).
The Bucks are 14-1-4 in their last 19 games against the Bees dating back to last season.
The first period was scoreless as neither team could light the lamp thanks to stellar goaltending on each side.
The Bucks were outshot 14-11 in the first period.
Laredo would break a scoreless tie by scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes of the second period to take a 2-0 edge after 40 minutes of play.
The Bucks went up 1-0 at the 10:07 mark of the second when Jeff Hazelwood scored from the slot on the power-play to pick up his fourth of the season.
The Bucks are 5-4 when scoring first this season.
Laredo increased their lead to 2-0 with just 1:24 left in the second when Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel scored from the left circle to pick up his third goal of the season.
Laredo outshot Rio 10-5 in the second period.
Sean Muncy cut the Bucks lead to 2-1 when he redirected a shot from the point with 5:57 left in the third period. The goal was Muncy's sixth of the season.
A little over two minutes later Reid Edmondson scored on a two-on-one break to pick up his first professional goal as he gave Laredo a 3-1 lead with 3:36 left in the third period.
The Bucks were outshot in the third period 13-9 as well as for the game 32-30.
Juliano Pagliero stopped 27 of 30 shots he faced for the Bees who fall to 7-7-2 (16 points).
Justin Styffe was scratched Wednesday night with a lower-body injury.
The Bucks travel to Texas on Friday before finishing up their three-game road trip Saturday at Mississippi.
