Bucks' Owner Hart Discusses Future
February 25, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- With the Laredo Bucks entering the stretch run of the 2010-11 season fighting for a Central Hockey League playoff spot, Bucks Majority Owner Glenn Hart has issued this letter to Buck fans around the world.
Buck Nation,
I understand that there are a lot of questions, comments, and even concerns out there about the next phase for the Laredo Bucks. I wanted to personally address these concerns and allow you to hear the facts.
There have been many rumors swirling lately about a possible move to a different league, most of which centers around the North American Hockey League. Let me be clear. The overall goal is to keep the Laredo Bucks right here in Laredo, and we are exploring any and all avenues to keep the Bucks here. We want to ensure that no matter which league we are a part of, the level of competition is equal to or greater than what the Laredo Bucks fans have come to expect. While the Laredo Bucks have reached out to the NAHL and expressed an interest in becoming one of their franchises, nothing is finalized. The NAHL is just one of many options we are looking into, but absolutely no decision has been made.
Near the end of every season, we take a hard look at all facets of our organization from the players, personnel and overall operations, and this is part of that process. Again, the overall goal is to keep the Bucks right here in Laredo, and we are looking at all the different ways to do that.
Our fans have become our family and we love playing in this city. I have personally been a part of this city through my entire professional career through different business ventures such as Laredo Energy, and you can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to keep the Bucks in Laredo and to continue our Championship tradition here.
In the meantime, we still have the stretch run this season, and our focus is on making a final push for the playoffs as we get healthy. Coach Rosco and his players are fighting to get back in the playoff hunt, and these rumors only serve as a distraction towards our season goal: Getting into the playoffs to have a chance to win our third CHL championship!
We urge you to support our run to the playoffs this season, and I will be taking a close look at the amount of support we receive from our loyal fans.
Glenn D. Hart
CEO Laredo Bucks
