Bucks Look To Break Bees Hearts On Valentines Day

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees today in a special Valentines Day game at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Game time is 4pm. Couples can come as one (two-for-one tickets) today. The first 1,000 fans to enter the LEC will receive a FREE box of Bucks Valentines Day Candies. Season ticket holders that come today will be entered in a raffle to win Bucky's Valentines Day Jersey. You must be present at the game to win the jersey.

Laredo and Texas both won Saturday night keeping the Bucks one point behind the Brahmas for third place in the Southern Conference. Laredo can move back into third today with a win. Texas is at Allen Monday at 1pm.

The Bucks picked up their fourth win in their last five games Saturday night as they beat the Bees 4-2. Adam Rivet had two goals while Jeff Bes and Darryl Smith each had a goal and an assist. Pier Pelletier stopped 33 saves to pick up the win in net.

Laredo looks to continue their success against Rio this season as the Bucks have yet to lose in regulation against the Bees (7-0-2). Six of the nine meetings between the Bucks and Bees this season have been one-goal affairs. The Bucks are 2-0-2 at home against the Bees this season with all four meetings ending in a shootout.

The Bucks and Bees will meet a total of seven times in the month of February with Laredo posting a 2-0-1 mark so far in the month. **

Laredo is in the middle of their third straight weekend three-in-three Saturday night. Starting the weekend of Jan 29th Bucks will play three games in three nights in seven straight weekends. In all, from January 29th-March 14th the Bucks will play 22 games in 44 days (10 home, 9 away). They are 5-3-1 in that span.

The Bees will attempt to snap a four-game winless streak today (0-3-1). Rio's last win came at the LEC in a 3-2 shootout win on February 4th.
