The Bucks got on the scoreboard first when Bes slipped a beautiful pass on to the stick of Grenville who finished off the two-on-one chance by swatting home his ninth goal of the year at 9:10. It was the first time in three games the Bucks have lit the lamp first. A little over two minutes later the Killer Bees tied the score when forward Justin Hawes picked up the puck in the slot and out waited Bucks goalie David Guerrera, then fired the puck into the net with a wrist shot at 11:22. The Bucks came right back in less than a minute when forward Brent Cullaton swooped up the puck in the bottom of the left circle and ripped his 11th goal of the season at 12:04. Cullaton is now tied for the Bucks team lead in goals and has tallied a goal in four straight games. Late in the period the Bees went on the power play, just after the penalty expired forward Justin Van Paris slipped down the left wing and fired a wrist shot that beat Guerrera low stick side to tie the game at 2-2 at 19:46. The teams combined for 35 shots in the period.

Early in the second period the Bucks capitalized as the Killer Bees got in penalty trouble. With a two-man advantage Bes drove home a rebound for a power play goal at 2:57 to give the Bucks the lead for the third time, 3-2.

In the third period the Bucks got things working on the power play again. Grenville again received a beautiful pass from Bes and buried the puck for his second of the night and tenth of the year at 8:27 for a 4-2 Laredo lead. The Bees refused to quit as Hawes picked up his second of the night at 14:55 to close the gap to one goal. The Bucks played tough defense down the stretch and Cullaton iced the win by scoring an empty netter at 19:35. FINAL SCORE Laredo 5, Rio Grande Valley 3.

Guerrera stopped 34 of 37 shots to improve to 8-1-0. Levy allowed four goals on 29 shots to drop to 8-6-1. The Bucks went 2-7 on the power play, and improved to eight for 22 this year versus Rio Grande Valley. The Killer Bees were 0-7 on the man advantage.
