
Bruton Chooses Acadia University

Chris Bruton, captain of the Memorial Cup Champion Spokane Chiefs, will attend Acadia University, the Wolfville, Nova Scotia school announced on Tuesday.
In his 20-year-old season with the Chiefs, Bruton scored a career high 26 goals and 63 points, both third on the club. Chris finished his four year Western Hockey League career with 258 games, 14th all-time in franchise history, while his +33 in 2007-08 was tied for fifth in the WHL.
Axemen Head Coach Darren Burns is ecstatic to land Bruton, amongst others in his recruiting class, "Chris Bruton is a winner. We are extremely excited that he has chosen Acadia this coming season. He is a born leader who will no doubt be a huge impact player in the league right away."
Acadia is a member of the Atlantic University Division in the CIS (Canadian Inter-University Sport).
