Bruins Acquire Van Duynhoven from the PG Cougars

Chilliwack BC - November 30, 2007: The Chilliwack Bruins have today acquired defenseman Chris Van Duynhoven (VAN-dun-hoe-ven) from the Prince George Cougars in return for the Bruins 4th Round Draft Selection in the 2009 WHL Draft.

Van Duynhoven, an eighteen year old defenseman, is in his third season in the WHL and has spent his entire career with the Cougars. In 142 career games with Prince George, Van Duynhoven has accumulated 4 goals and 12 assists for 16 points, to go along with 152 PIM. The Bruins newest player will wear jersey #4 and is listed at 6'5", 242 pounds and is a native of Burnaby BC.

'Acquiring Chris allows us to get bigger on the back end and gain valuable veteran experience,' comments Bruins General Manager Darrell May. 'Chris wore a letter in Prince George and we look forward to implementing him into our lineup immediately and also adding the leadership skills that he has demonstrated in Prince George.'

Van Duynhoven will make his first appearance for the Bruins tomorrow night as the Bruins will face the Blazers in Kamloops.
