Swift Current Broncos News Release
Medicine Hat, Alta. - The Swift Current Broncos win streak ended at four games on Tuesday night after a 5-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers at Co-op Place.
Things started alright for the Broncos, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first, thanks to goals from Dawson Gerwing and Clarke Caswell. However, with only 21 shots on goal in the game, the offence struggled for the Broncos who were unable to beat Zach Zahara the rest of the way.
Hunter St. Martin scored twice for Medicine Hat, once in the first and once in the second, to get the game back to even and they would add two more in the second courtesy of Oasiz Wiesblatt and Gavin McKenna.
Kadon McCann scored in the third for Medicine Hat, and while the Broncos fired nine shots towards the goal in the third, they weren't able to get one to go.
Caswell's goal was a powerplay marker, making it five straight games in which the Broncos have scored with the extra man. The penalty kill was 3-for-4 on the night for the Broncos. Reid Dyck stopped 19 of 24 in the loss.
The Broncos are back at it on Friday night, hosting the Medicine Hat Tigers.
