November 6, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Swift Current Broncos News Release
Swift Current Broncos Head Coach and General Manager Dean Chynoweth announced the Broncos have acquired 18 year old forward Matt Ius from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a 2009 5th round Bantam Draft pick.
Ius, from Pitt Meadows BC, has 3 goals in 10 games this season with the Silvertips and has 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points and 34 penalty minutes in 87 career WHL games.
Chynoweth says "Due to our present injury situation we felt it was necessary to address it, and pick up a player with WHL experience. Matt fits that role, he is a bigger body that skates well and competes hard."
Ius, a former second round Bantam Draft pick, is expected to be in the line-up Sunday against Regina. Ius' former team, the Everett Silvertips will be in Swift Current Friday November 14th.
