Broncos Sign Defenceman Hudson Kowalchuk from USHL

Swift Current, SK - The Swift Current Broncos are excited to announce the signing of 2008-born defenceman Hudson Kowalchuk to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

A product of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kowalchuk joins the Broncos after spending the 2025-26 season with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). In 37 games with the Lancers, the left-shot defenceman recorded one goal and five assists.

"I am honoured to sign with the Swift Current Broncos," said Kowalchuk. "I'm grateful for the opportunity and ready to give everything I have to the organization."

"We welcome Hudson and the Kowalchuk family to the Broncos organization," said Broncos General Manager and Head Coach Travis Crickard. "Hudson is a very driven student-athlete who immediately improves our defensive depth. He is a well-rounded, mobile defenceman who makes smart decisions under pressure and can be a threat off the rush. We really look forward to playing a part in his developmental path going forward."
