Brockton Rox News Release

BROCKTON - The Brockton Rox, the hottest team in the Can-Am League, look to steal a spot atop the standings tonight as they host the North Shore Spirit for the second game of the three game series.

Last night, 5,754 Rox fans, the largest crowd at Campanelli Stadium this season, rose to their feet as CF Brad Rosenblat drove a single to the right-center field gap with one out in the ninth inning, scoring SS Mike Scanzano and handing the Rox their sixth straight win in a 5-4 victory over North Shore. With this dramatic triumph, the Rox also took control of first place in the MA Lottery Commonwealth Cup standings over the Spirit and the Worcester Tornadoes. In addition to an exciting battle for first place tonight, fans can also expect some great entertainment.

This evening's game is scheduled to be full of activities, starting immediately when the gates open at 6:05pm. Courtesy of Marylou's Coffee, the first 1,000 fans will receive 2006 Brockton Rox team card sets. In honor of "Real Men Wear Pink Night" the Rox will be sporting pink jerseys that can be purchased through a silent auction during the game to benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Just when you thought this night couldn't get any better, the Rox are proud to welcome back American Idol Ayla Brown to Campanelli Stadium. Prior to the game, Ayla will be signing autographs on the concourse followed by a live performance of the National Anthem.

The Rox look to finish out the series on Sunday, July 9th during Family FUNday, courtesy of WKLB. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05pm.

Tickets are still available to purchase by calling the ticket office at 508-559-7070 or online at www.brocktonrox.com. Don't miss out on a great weekend at Campanelli Stadium!
