BURLINGTON, VT - Vermont starter Jhenderson Hurtado spun five innings of one-run ball, sending the Lake Monsters past the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets 7-3 in the finale of a three-game series Saturday night at Centennial Field.

BIG MOMENTS

Vermont's Jose Rivas delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, breaking a tie to give the Lake Monsters a 2-1 lead. Vermont added four runs in the bottom of the sixth to push the advantage to 6-1.

Jose Brizuela's run-scoring double to right field tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth for Brooklyn. Brizuela later doubled and scored on an error in the seventh, cutting the deficit to 6-2.
