Brito, Devalk Claim Weekly Awards

DURHAM, NC - The American Association's official statistician, PA-Sportsticker, has selected Grand Prairie AirHogs INF Javier Brito and Pensacola Pelicans RHP Dane DeValk as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

In four games last week, Brito batted .588 with five runs scored, 10 hits and 10 RBI. The Venezuelan native collected five doubles with a .882 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .571. In Grand Prairie's 16-3 victory over El Paso this past Thursday, Brito went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two runs scored and five RBI. The 26-year-old is currently hitting .289 with three home runs, 22 RBI and 11 doubles.

DeValk threw a complete game shutout in the 6-0 win over the Sioux City Explorers Saturday. The 25-year-old allowed only one walk and four hits while striking out eight Sioux City hitters. On the season, DeValk is 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 17 games.
