
Brighton's Alex Mayer Serves as the "Play Ball" Kid

ROCHESTER, NY - Brighton's Alex Mayer, a fifth grader at French Road Elementary School, served as the "Play Ball " Kid at the Red Wings' September 3 matchup with the Syracuse Chiefs. Mayer, 10, got the game underway by yelling "Play Ball !" to the Frontier Field crowd just prior to the first pitch of the ballgame.
Mayer plays baseball in Brighton and his favorite position is second base.
